Default Small bike choices?

My girlfriend's 5'2" with a 30" inseam (I think...). I'm looking for motorcycle choices for her. She's a real little thing (and a sportbike nut ), and I'm worried that she won't be able to find a bike that she can comfortably ride. I want to find something for her that isn't rediculously small, isn't incredibly expensive (used value), and powerful yet not too powerful - She's only ever been a passenger before. Her birthday is coming up, and I want to pay for her to take the MSF course, and be waiting there with two bikes (his and hers), should she pass.

Could anyone make a recommendation?

The 250 Ninjas are pretty popular.

Read the stickies in the New rider Forum on here and you'll get lot's of onfo on the bikes of choice for newbies.

As far as seat hight goes,I have a friend that's 5' and she rides a BMW 1200GS,that's a really tall bike if you don't know.I'm 6' and can't flat foot it.

Learning how to ride a tall bike is not that hard to do,one just has to shift their body from side to side and use only one foot for the ground.

And welcome to SBN and enjoy you're stay.

There are ways to get her foot on the ground. People have told me that you can get a lowering/adjustable springs and I also heard that some remove a couple of padding on their seats. For recommendation like fast glass said a 250 or even a 500 would work. The best advice a rider can give you is go to some local dealers and let her sit on a couple of bike and make sure she is wearing boots for added high. Peace and good luck bike hunting. Oh and welcome.

I have a 30" inseem and I couldn't flat-foot my last bike (Katana 600), but it was more than manageable. The Ninja 250r (my next bike) should be a bit easier. The only other bike I've piloted was a Ninja ex500 and that was a bit better than the katana, I fit on that one real well.

I'd look into the 250r, though the ex500 and the gs500 would probably be also good choices.

Since she's new to riding, she won't be comfortable unless she can flat foot it. Your best bet is to get her a cruiser or maybe a Buell Blast.

a small cruiser would be the most confidence inspiring because unless she is 3' tall she can probably flat foot a small cruiser.
