Default Lowered springs?

I went to go look at a 2000 Kat 600 today and the guy said that the front tire was lowered all the way he thinks and the back was lowered some. whats the purpose to lower? rider preference or to ride more aggressively? just curious not to familiar with bike suspension.

Mainly if you're too short.

I'm not sure of the adverse effects on the handling, but I'm sure there are a few.

If you think about it... lowering the front, without lowering the back, will cause the rake to decrease...

Anyway, probably rider preference.

I am short too, but I was able to get both feet down on a SV650. Not completely flat, but more than enough to hold the bike upright.

I will be lowering my 636 a couple inches due to the fact I ride with a passanger.

32.5" seat height and 5'8" work fine when you're riding alone.

Try to stabalize a total of 650 pounds on your tip toes... not fun.
