I know you guys have heard this a lot, but THANKS! I have been "trolling" through the forum for like... 3 or 4 months now. I dont know why I never registered. Anyways. I have gained a lot of knowledge by reading many of the posts and stickies throughout the forum and I have came to the conclusion that the 250r IS the bike I am going to start on. I am looking for the bike now and hopefully going to be riding this summer. Im pretty excited. I can't wait to wear all the gear, I think most of the gear looks wicked. Anyways thanks a log again guys/gals. Im in the Southern Utah area. I tlive pretty close to Las Vegas so I might even hit me up some track days and see how the "big boys" do it.

Excellent choice. You'll learn and practice on the 250 and sharpen your new skills. When you sell it to move up, you won't be so weary and you'll know better what to expect. It will make you a better rider in the long run. All these new riders want GSXR1000's and Hayabusas but they can't ride which makes the bike they ride irrelevant. I take guys I know on real rides (not stop light riding) and they just become specs in the mirror along the woody and twisty lake roads. They're not experienced enough. The bike is only as good as it's rider.

Congrats on the choice of bike. I learned more on the 250cc bike that have at the MSF then I had learned on my F4i. They are great bikes to learn on and their cheap. Keep it in good condition and you should be able to sell it close to what you paid.

btw, Welcome to SBN

You start out motorcycling with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
