Default Reserve

Is there any problems with leaving the tank on RESERVE is this harmfull to bike cause i assume if it is just a lower down feed than the regular ON position than it shouldnt hurt anything

It is just a lower feed, so it wont harm anything. Why would you do it though? If you run out of gas and you are on reserve, you cant flip the switch to get more.

If you never use the reserve, is it old gas sitting in it, or is it ever cycled through.

Also, when you fill up your tank, does it fill the reserve if it is low?

I just bought a bike this weekend, and I have no clue about the reserve.

I have ran outa gas a few times and if these things didnt have a reserve I would have walked a lot more than I would have rode
So to answer you question, if you like to push your bike around just keep it on reserve

It's all the same tank with 2 feeds - one at the bottom (reserve) and one about a half gallon "higher" in the tank. If you leave the petcock on reserve and run out of gas, the tank will be empty. If you leave the petcock on "ON" and it sputters, flip the petcock to reserve and you have access to that last half gallon.
