*If you can remember* what BOOTS did you wear to MSF?
Most likely, when you all took the MSF class, you were a noobie to the motorcycle scene... meaning most of us didnt have exactly fresh riding gear....
At least I didnt! How did you improvise!!??
I remember thinking of wearing Timberland boots, but decided that I wouldnt be able to move my ankle too much in them, so I decided to wear my LACELESS merrel boots:
They were surprisingly good... thank god they went over my ankles.
SO, what boots did you go in? sneakers (gasp)? or were you lucky enough to have some real riding gear?

MSF is Jersey doesnt allow you to wear sneakers, they must be over the ankle boots.
I had to go out and buy a pair of Timberland knockoffs cause my Vega sport boots didnt arrive on time. I was pissed as I spent 40$ on boots I would never wear again.

If you wear work boots, make sure you tuck the laces inside the top of the boot. It looks really lame when you come to a stop and your laces are hung up on the foot peg preventing you from being able to put your foot down.

Never out-ride your ability to react (even stop) within the distance you can see (at least on the street).

Sears is having a 25% off clearance sale on their Everlast work boot line right now. (In other words, 25% off the prices shown at that link - the additional discount shows up when you put them in your cart.)
Personally I have absolutely no use for work boots, so like someone mentioned it's a total waste of money to buy a pair just for MSF. It would be better to invest in a $75 pair of Setup etc. actual riding boots.
Closest thing I have are Sidi Doha ankle boots. I've worn those to MSF.

They just let us wear over the ankle shoes. I wore an old pair of basketball shoes. It changes from instructor to instructor. I may take the MSF again this summer with my mom. She wants to get a scooter for when it's nice out and I told her she is required by me to take the MSF before she does.

I had a pair of Redwing work boots for my Msf. We were required to wear over the ankle protection.
+1 I too wore a pair of Redwing steel-toe work boots for my MSF. They worked fine an offered ankle protection. Also, our instructer wanted us to wear long socks aside from just boots, some guy had boots but those small ankle socks on and he told him that for the next day to wear longer socks.
