Default Over the ankle - 8" steel toed loggers okay?

Are 8" steel toed logger boots okay to take the MSF? They have a heel on them, not sure if that matters. I have seen where the school's have said no heels.

Carolina 8" Plain Steel Toe Logger in Black - Carolina Men's Shoes on Shoeline.com

I know, I know I should just ask them.

Rules vary by state, but they meet the MSF standard requirements. I don't recommend steel-toe'd boots though. They have an OSHA mandated tall toe box. This is good for dropping things on your foot, but it makes it harder to shift, particularly on smaller bikes.

Cool thanks, I'll have to see what else I have in the closet that would work. Mostly Loggers, Cowboy or Chuck Taylors are all my over the ankle shoes.

If you're going to buy new boots, why not just buy motorcycle boots? There are some out there for less than those loggers. The Chuck Taylors won't cut it. Have to be leather.

I agree that I wouldn't want to be trying to learn to ride a motorcycle in steel-toed boots. I already know how, and getting on a dirt bike with dirt boots was awkward enough. Not an extra challenge you need at that point.

I already own those loggers, sorry I should have mentioned that. I just put them up as an example...mine are beat to hell and back and the steel is showing through in a couple spots.

If I was buying moto boots that's what I would buy. But if I could save $100 for the class that would be nice as well.

I figured the chucks would be a no go.

Being in the military, and w/ my job, all my work boots have to be steel toe, and to tell you the truth, i swear by em. After seeing a 40,000lb r-11 run over a boot and it only bending the toe a little down, i always wear em when ever i do... well... anything that requires a little safety. Oh yea and my zx6r, it's not a problem shifting w/ them on... not any harder then any other boot/shoe.
