Default Wait time for the road test waiver...

How long did you guys wait for the waiver? The website says 6-8 weeks. That seems like a long time.

That's crazy. My class all got ours right after the test. Went to the DMV the next morning passed their written test and had my M.

I assume you mean "when do you get your endorsement" after successfully completing the class? If so, Massachusetts: 21 business days or less (usually 7-10).

I took the test riding portion of the MSF the third day of the course. Passed with flying colors and was given a piece of paper of endorsement to take to the DMV to have "M" included on my drivers license. No waiting period here in New Jersey.

For you guys in NY, after you got your endorsement, did you have to take another written test at the dmv?

Nope. Just hand them your slip and they hand you your temp license (and send your real license in the mail which takes about 2-4 weeks).

It varies by state. The bigger the bureaucracies, the longer the wait.

The MSF has nothing to do with waivers. It's state specific. We hand them out at the end of class.

Wow that sucks that some states have a waiting period. We got ours right after the riding tests were done. Went directly to the DMV and got my updated license the same day.
