Default MSF ERC completed

Took my ERC again on Monday as a refresher. It's been about a year since my last one so I thought I was due. Had a lot of fun. The instructor turned out to be a prior WERA racer with 20 years experience racing. We were doing our preride inspection and he was showing everyone how to find the wear indicators on the tires on my Zed. His reaction at my rear tire... "Holy Shit...We are definately going to have to ride together sometime." Then proceeded to explain to everyone else there what a chicken strip is and tried to recover himself by stating I had a 180 tire and that's why he has more showing on his 190. Then I told him "Nope, that's a 190 back there". He just shook his head in amazement that I lay my naked bike over that far on the street. Ended up passing the course with 0 points acquired and actually helped do some of the instructing and cone setup. Had a great time and met the instructor the next day for a ride. He was on a 2006 Honda CBR1000RR with only 1500 miles on it. I was playing around on hwy 60 near 41 and took off at the light and he blew by me like I was standing still. Absolutely amazing the accelleration that bike had. When he finally let off I was doing 140 trying to catch up. He was wanting to go on a north run this sunday, but had to do a BRC instead. Just thought I'd share with you guys. Even if you have plenty of experience it never hurts to get a refresher. You can meet a lot of good people there too.

Does your bike have the larger turning radius that sportbikes have? Did you have any problems with the figure 8?

It has about the same radius as any sport bike, it just has the raised bars so it's easier to control. I was schooling everyone on the figure 8's I actually got it 1 ft inside the lines for 250 bikes. The instructor was pretty amazed. Then I let him ride the Zed and he found out why. The bike is just absolutely easy to turn with the wide handlebars and all.
