Default Military and Civilian differences?

Is there a difference in the curriculum from military MSF courses and their civilian counterparts. Just curious. I'm sure the instructors themselves will have a different teaching style, just goes with the territory I guess. I've taken the Military ARC and plan on taking it again here in a couple weeks.

I know for some bases having the MSF isn't enough, you also have to take the military one, most of the time for each base you go to. Granted it's free and doesn't hurt to get refresher training but seems like it's overdone.

I believe the instructors on base are civilians doing it, not military.

I know here at Macdill in Tampa, the instructors are all active duty. We have one Coast Guard instructor and the rest are army or air force.

The course they give here gets you an MSF card at the end of testing so it sounds to me as if they are the same. Just curious if anyone elses experiences were different.

Instructors here in JPN are active duty as well. MSF, either on base or off suffices for license, but some bases require extra command approval and mentorship stuff. But on base MSF is FREE, so just get signed up and show up. When you pass MSF you get a cert of completion. Send in a copy (and $) to your state DMV and they'll add the M endorsement to your state license.

The curriculum is exactly the same. I teach both on and off base. On base we might talk about some different things because most of the riders know the basics of riding (they got their bikes to the class somehow). In an off base class I often have people that have never been on a motorcycle before taking the class, so we tend to take things a bit more slowly to ensure that we don't overwhelm anyone.

Short answer is yes, it is the same.

As I remember MilMoto is based on the RSS. Currently, its transitioning to the BRC.
