Thrash is still my favorite type of music. Sepultura was good in their day, but not really the best.
My top 5 in no order.
1. Slayer
2. Metallica - Killem All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets era ONLY
3. Testament
4. Megadeth
5. Exodus
Want to see some new relevant kick ass thrash?
check out
Lamb of God and Kreator. Both making great new music now.
Check out this video from Kreator. I was ready to kill after I saw this masterpiece.
YouTube - Kreator - Enemy Of God

Not really into this genre too much, but I do like Bullet for my Valentine.

Lamb of God isn't thrash, neither are Chimaira and Soulfly. As for Enemy of God, it's nothing compared to Extreme Agression or more importantly Coma of Souls; EoG was released a couple years ago too so it's not exactly new.
Only bands/albums I can recommend are
Coroner - Punishment for Decadence and Mental Vortex
Kreator - the above mentioned albums + Live Kreation
Megadeth - Peace Sells, Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia
Intruder - The Enemy Within
Testament - Practice What You Preach
Nuclear Assault - Survive

Oh yeah forgot about Overkill. Feel The Fire, Horrorscope, Taking Over, The Years of Decay; used to listen to those all the time. Metal Church's has a similiar style on their debut, The Human Factor and the one with the grey cover are pretty killer.
