Who's excited? I'm pumped, this movie is gonna kick ass! I've got tickets at a local IMAX theatre for 6pm on Friday. I've only heard praise from people who have seen early screenings.
I'm pretty psyched. Judging from the previews, Heath Ledger looks like he is really going to bring a whole new level of psycho to the Joker. When Jack Nicholson played him in the first Batman, he did a good job, but Ledger's Joker looks downright scary.

I'm really looking forward to it.
Everything I've read says that Ledger's Joker IS the Joker...that nothing will ever compare. It's being said that it's so creepy and psychotic the way he does it, that an Oscar Nomination would in no way be out of the question.
I can't wait.

Honestly, for the first half, it was probably the most disturbing and terrifying movie I've ever seen. Extremely well done the whole way through, but the gadgets, capes, and heroes come through a lot stronger towards the end and the macabre gets tuned down.
I went and saw it at 12:01 last night too. It is easily one of the greatest movies ever, if not the greatest... in my opinion.
The Joker never really freaked me out or anything in the previews or even in the first part of the movie like I keep hearing everyone else say... BUT, towards the end, all bets were off. That dude was just down right psychotic.
I was dead tired going into it and thinking, WTF are we doing here?? This isn't going to be worth it. lol, I was glad I went afterwords. Needless to say, I never got tired either.
GO SEE IT PEOPLE!

I'm probably going to go back today! Such a good movie... walking away it's almost hard to talk about 'liking' it because of how dark it is. The whole thing is just nawing at your nerves and making you question things... and the plot is layed out brilliantly. You get the gist of the issues from the trailers, but the way it all unfolds and the way the lead males (Harvey Dent, Bruce Wane, Officer Gordon and The Joker) all wind up motivating each other is just so artistically executed.
The best part of the movie is how it delivers on all fronts. Plot? Brilliant and compelling. Action sequences?Fiery and well orchestrated. Characters? universally strong, with the Ledger's Joker standing out as one of the best performances of anyone at anything I've ever seen.
Man you guys are killing me. My girlfriend checked all the theaters around me; sold out everywhere already! It's only friggin' 1:40 PM. This movie is sooooooo hyped that when I finally see it, it better be worth it!
I don't generally speak all THAT enthusiastically about movies, but seriously, this one really suprised me, and I was EXPECTING it to be good.
I'll spare you an indepth review and just say that by the time it was over there was a tear in my eye, a shake in my legs, and a chill up my back, no shit. If you liked anything about the last movie at all, you will absolutely love this film, no question.
If you are a fan of the Frank Miller books (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Returns) you are going to absolutely shit your pants when you see this. It is EXACTLY the film that should occur between those two stories. The story is exactly what it should be, the feel is right, the performances ar fantastic, I seriously could not have asked for more. I went in as a fan of the comics and the of last movie with HIGH expectations for this film, and (for once) I left COMPLETELY satisfied with what i got. It actually made up for my bitter dissapointment with the Matrix sequals, yeah it was THAT good.
Everyone is talking about how Heath Ledger stole the show, and they ar right. However, don't think for a moment that it was because the rest of the cast turned in poor performances. EVERYONE was good in this movie, Health ledger was just beyond compare and the stellar performances of the rest of the cast were overshadowed by what may prove to be an oscar worthy supporting performance. In fact, I almost wrote "best actor" because it certainly doesn't feel like the Joker is anything less than the leading man in this film.

Hey guys, just some news. I still haven't seen it yet. I want to go see it in Imax, and it's sold out until like Tuesday. I'll probably go see it then.
Anyways...on to the news.
"The Dark Knight" recorded the highest grossing midnight sales total ever. $18.5 million dollars alone at the midnight showing which beats out "Star Wars Episode III" for that title. These totals do NOT include 3AM and 6AM showings.
There are still over 1,300 shows completely sold out that haven't shown yet.
"The Dark Knight" moved into the Top 5 Pre-Sales of all time.
Industry insiders are projecting it to bring in close to (if not more than) $170 million dollars this weekend, which will shatter the record of about $152 million set by "Spider-Man 3."

I have absolutely NO doubt it will do just what you said, Gimp. SMIII is not going to be in the ballpark.
At the local theater I went to last night, all the midnight showings were sold out, they had 6...yes, 6 theaters for the 2 am showing (all sold out...I think I got the last pair of tickets) and 6 theaters for the 330 am showing, all sold out.
I have never seen a parking lot as full at 2 am as at 8 pm before, but the cars were parked in neighboring lots and we had to hike practically just to get to the doors.
That movie took me to the deepest recesses of my psyche and showed me how truly scary people can be. Yeah, I was scared shitless for a while there.

I believe it. I saw it at a 10:30 AM weekday showing at a theater in the suburbs that was playing it simultaneously on two screens (and had been every 2.5 hours since midnight), full house in both.

At 2:45 mins its really long. Most of the previews prior to the movie sucked except Terminator 4. I liked it, but I don't know whats up with the next movie they are making. They left you no clues or hints toward it really except that it IS coming.
