Yeah, it is astounding. I don't know if I can play any other PS3 games after this. MGS4 puts them all to shame. I haven't beat it yet, but oh, how I do hope this won't be the last one. This is such a great series.

I haven't played it since I dont have the whole background of the story from the other MGS's. I might still pick it up though due to it getting a perfect 10 from IGN.

Definitely play the first 3. They are amazing. Play them in order that way you don't lose any of the surprises. It's the best game series ever. The PS3 can play all of them. The graphics for MGS1 are just a bit dated, but it's still an amazing game.

The story line is the best part of those games. They always have an amazing back story, it doesn't feel like a game when you are playing it. It feels like you are controlling a really well written movie.

I have to get this game.

It's getting great reviews.

I've always just not liked the series though. Back when I had an original PlayStation I simply couldn't get into Metal Gear Solid. Then when I got a PlayStation 2 I couldn't get into any of the Metal Gear games on that, either.

I will admit that I did really enjoy the Metal Gear Solid games for the PSP, but due to the fact that I had never really played through all the other games the story really had me lost...and I mean totally lost...

Hey, just started playing the game (i have played the first three). Did the controls feel funny to any of you? And the instructions seem somewhat vague or perhaps i'm misunderstanding them. As a for instance, very early on, the instructions say you can give a ration to the militia guys, but no can do. also, when they spot me, they spot me as an enemy and shoot. Typically i wouldn't care and just keep playing but just wanted to see if there was something i was missing. Thanks guys!

everything is tied together nicely in this instalment. cut scenes are a lil to long in the tooth for me but i suppose when this one is gonna be the last, you gotta air everything out from begining to end. then ending is bananas, btw! you'll love it.
