Default Got Guitar Hero III Today...

So even though I'm not a big fan of it, I got "Guitar Hero III" today.

I say I'm not a big fan for one reason and one reason only...I fucking suck at it. I seriously am probably the worst GH player in the world. I can finish every song on the easy levels but can't even get through a song on the medium levels. I had "Guitar Hero II" for a while but ended up selling it because I wasn't getting any better.

So anyways, I ended up buying "GHIII" today from Amazon.com. I ended up getting the game with the wireless guitar for only $59.99 including shipping. Apparently Amazon.com is doing something where Wednesday is "Video Game Day" and there are great deals that change every couple of hours...and it just so happened to have "GHIII" for $40 off when I looked at it.

For that price I figured I couldn't really go wrong...

I hope you got it on 360. If so, hit me up if you see me online (tag is bzbatl, duh).

Yeah, so... it totally takes practice.

And I'm completely against practicing a fake instrument. So, GH2 and eventually 3 sat around collecting dust.

Then, Rock Band came along, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing that with the wife and friends. After weeks of nonstop CrackBanding, I became really good at it... and now GH is quite easy.

Course, I'm still super addicted to the drums, since I had never played drums before in my life. I'm getting pretty good at it (even hooked it up to the PC with the drumkit program just to fuck around).

I know you love RockBand, BZB, because every time I see you online you're playing it.

How do you feel about Guitar Hero 4?

I read on Kotaku and IGN about the makers of Guitar Hero getting into the full-on band experience with a game that will use their own drumset and will supposedly have the largest playlist of all music/rhythm games.

BTW, the guitar made by Activision for RockBand is a piece of plastic shit. Plus, without silencer pads, the drumkit for RockBand is entirely too loud.

I love playing on medium. It's difficult enough to keep my interest and it's easy enough to keep me from kicking a hole through my tv.

Anyone who complains that the Rock Band drums are "too loud" probably should try out a real drum set and see how loud that is.

The guitar is a POS, though, I'll agree. The drum kit, however, I think is stellar considering:

1. It's $60
2. You beat it with sticks, and it still works

I'm still going strong with my original drumkit. On my 3rd guitar, though. I went ahead and ponied up the $60 for GH3 Wireless Les Paul.

GH4 drum kit will be the tits. Adds one pad and has hanging cymbals. I am torn about it, though. I really don't want two different drum kits sitting around my man cave.

Simple: get rid of the weaker product (rockband) and stick w/ GH4 (I believe they're calling it GH: World Tour)

BTW, creating your OWN SONGS is going to rule the world for awhile.

The two things that are better on Rock Band are the overdrive system and the accuracy of the HO/PO. Not to mention the song list right now is obviously made for a band rather than just a couple of guitars.

I'm sure that'll all change with GH4... which I'm sure I'll get. It's just a matter of how long will this last before all of it's sitting next to my DDR pad.

I love playing that song on GH. The highest I can play it though is medium, and even then I'm not hitting more than 80%.

I sucked pretty bad, but I got quite a bit better after playing it regularly.
