I'd have to say prolly not on the 80 mods.... sure it would be a light fast bike but like she said a 2 stroke isnt really that good/forgiving for motarding. Especially a small bore, the narrow "light switch" powerband that makes them so much fun in the dirt would make it a real handful on pavement especially when you start pushing it...
The engine braking of a 4 stroke makes it a bit easier to ride as well. I hate to badmouth the 2's but pavement is so dam unforgiving and Hard to fall on geeeze a highside off a dirtbike would be brutal
Another thing to consider is the bike wasn't designed as a big wheel, IMO it would be better to go the full sized bike. If only for the better suspension. There's a ton of things to consider, I tend to be a perfectionist/get the best I can get my mits on since experience has taught me that having good eq under you helps immensly and can reduce the injuries as well.
My DR 350 (the off road version) quickly went through some radical transformations wasnt long before the suspension went the full Race Tech route and then I dumped the conventional fork for a USD fork from a YZ250 a piggyback showa shock all modded by Race Tech then it handled and I wanted more power

so I got a White Bros big bore kit making it a 440.... next thing I did was put lights on it so I could ride it on the road. Shipped it to the neighbor Islands and rode it everywhere... Raced it is so many races with my friends in some of the toughest races there are and had a absolute blast.
Point Im rambling on about tho is once it was setup well it was a dream to ride, so much more controlable and hence safer to ride fast. Just something to consider... kinda the right tool for the job....
It cost a small fortune but at the time there was no alternatives like there are now.
