im not sure what i did to the damn thing but i was out riding the ttr and i jumped a hill and when i went to ride away the bike died so i fired it back up and put it in first and went to pull away and it went a foot or 2 and died again (acting like it was outta gas) and it does this now every time i try to take off not sure if my clutch gave out or if i have some other issue and yes there is gas need some opinions before i go wrenching and the bike will run fine in nuetral or with the clutch in (i think i just answered my clutch question)

OK the clutch is definatly not the issue. On the carb look for a small screw going horizontally into the float bowl. Its the drain screw. Unscrew it with the gas turned on and see if there is a steady flow of fuel from the drain hose. If there is then that tells you you are getting fuel. The next thing to look at then is the pilot ket in the carb. The pilot jet has a very tiny hole and I mean tiny like a half a hair size and it can plug easily and will ,ake it quit at low speeds. Generally it will run if you hold it WFO since the main jet is in action then and it has a big ass hole that will rarely ever clog.

It sounds like a fuel problem. I;m guessing. Also look at the sparkplug. If its white thats a indicarion that its lean meaning a plugged orafice somewhere. It should be a light tan color. If its black and gtrasy its rich and probably has a sticking float.

Let me know what ya find and I'll tell ya what to look for. I'm a ASCI certafied mechanic and know engines inside and out.

What he said bro! Do you know if it has an aftermarket jet kit in it? It might not have been set properly when it was installed. Just a word of advice....keep spare plugs and plug wrench around brudda.

Ahhhh its a 4 stroke ya aint supposed ta hafta lug plugs n wenches around wid ya... hell on my DR 440 I had a spare plug in my frnder pack that was so friggen rusty there was no friggen way it would screw in the head! I ran those $20 buck NHK DPR9ev unobtanium jobbies.

The ones with the center electrode that looks like a needle and the ground electrode was forked on the end. I usually ran them for at least 15,000 miles! My Dualsport got major usage all the time I put over 125,000 miles on the thing in 5 years! A good portion of them miles were on the rear wheel. Saved tire wear on the front I put 5 sets of bearings in the back wheel and one in the front.

Always ran full knobs cause I got em free from Phil he got new tires every week from his sponser. So I always had either 752 dunlop mud tires (the ones with the wide bar across the tire and a 4-5 inch gap and another bar.) or 490's Noiseier than a mofo sounded like a bug ass 4x4 truck! the street sharpened the edges right up and they lasted about a month.... They were great in the rain, you could do huge slides so easy it was silly fun!!!

the filter if its stock is a screen in the tank on the petcock. You should cut the fuel line and install a good inline filter after you get everything cleaned out.
