Default Good times

I just started introducing my son to riding, and we are having a blast together.

We have been going out to the desert with our friends, but sometimes, we just like to ride in a lot by our house, and have fun.

There is nothing better than riding with your kid - its an awesome feeling, especially when they bug you to go!! What are you going to say? NO?

Just kidding. I wish I could get my son into riding. I ride street and dirt bikes, hare scramlbes, enduros etc. I've bought my son two bikes in the last few years but can't get him interested. I don't get it. When I was his age all I wanted in the whole world was a bike. ANY bike.

My son said I was a squid too. He was laughing at your message.

I wont let him ride without all full gear, and as a matter of fact, I dumped soon after that pic riding too close on his rear, and he hit the brakes hard. That XT600 I learned, is a big pig.

Two choices - hit him, or grab a BUNCH of brake. I hit too much front brake, and I was down in an instant. He freaked out, shed some tears feeling like it was his fault (NOT!) while I was on the ground, and I made sure once I was up quickly he understood I was OK.

I have since invested in full dirt gear. Im a gear nazi on the street, and I have since learned that dirt is no excuse not to wear gear.

If you have kids, get them involved in what you do, what you love, no matter what it is. I know if Im gone tomorrow, or many years from now, he will still love to ride. If I leave him with anything, it will be a love for anything on two wheels. I am blessed.

My kids* are going to have more toys than I ever had. Unless they want dolls or other boring toys. I should restate, they can have more motorized toys than I ever had.

*kids* pertains to only the children I admit to fathering

Awwwwwww man that is soooo awesome!! Some of my fondest memories are from me and my Dad just goofing around out in one of out fav places to ride. Riding with my Dad was a blast. I can only imagaine what it feels like to take a wide eyed kid out for a ride on his own bike...... must be the greatest feeling in the world.
