Say hi if you're passing through
Its kinda quiet in here was curious how many people actually look at this section.
Guzzi have a new motor comming still aircooled twin with wait for it four valve heads sohc oh radical! more importantly they will have another 30hp to push them along. Griso the first to benifit due locally very very soon. Who knowes they might even do a road going MGS.

Repling to my own thread little sad.
Anyways MCN (UK) video on the Stelvio not quiet a sports bike but the pass its named after is pretty !@#$ing serious. Should be a bit of a weapon on the right roads a bit of a sleeper.

Nah Ewen and Charlie Boorman sp? use BMW's because BMW gave them free bikes more than anything I think the model was the 1150 GS Adventure. The Stevio is designed to compete in the same market as the GS which has a pretty big chunk of the market and very popular in europe and as a practical all rounder they make a lot of sense. The Stevio is yet to be release and is a brand new model for Guzzi athough its might not be the most stylish thing around adventure bikes don't tend to be anyway.
The introduction of the 8 valve motor is intresting opens up the oppourtunites to have something a little more sporting but it will be if the corporate powers to be at Piaggio allow it, they may feel they have the sports bike segment covered with Aprilia. On a side note in the Long Way down the follow up to the long way down Ewen is filmed buy riding his own bike a Guzzi griso and they briefly drop into the factory on thier way through Italy.

Hello!
I think the Stelvio is a great looking bike, more interesting than the BMWs, for sure. I must admit I rather like the looks of much of the range. After all, how can you not admire the guys who gave us the swingarm?
I'd say my current ride illustrates my ever present interest in "something different". I can't see that changing when I decide on my next motorcycle either. I wonder what it'll be....
Cheers

I love the looks of that bike, but I test rode one over at Moto International and the ergos are really bizarre. They actually reminded me a little bit of the awkward ergos of the Honda Superhawk. Now I'm 5'11", so what's weird for me might be perfect for someone else. I found my lower body scrunched up, I think the pegs are a bit forward of where they should have been, while the reach to bars was a little long. I think if the bars were an inch back and an inch up they'd be perfect.
The motor was still in break-in so I couldn't rev it above 5k, but there was plenty of Guzzi grunt and fantastic burble and pop during engine breaking (reminded me of my very much missed '04 Speed Triple SE). Brakes were just fine (remember, the ones I'm used to are 32 year old technology) and the transmission was really smooth, though I did find one or two false neutrals. It required a little bit of effort to initiate turn in but it held a line quite well.
All in all, it's an awesome bike let down slightly by weird ergos. Fortunately, the ergos can be fixed. It's on my short list of bikes for when I actually have some money again.
