I've tried my 250 mile round trip commute with the bike once so far just to if it was a huge pain in the ass or not. It actually wasn't too bad but I'm not fond of the idea of potentially having to leave my bike on the street somewhere in the Bronx if I have to take care of an emergency service call. I'll probably be keeping my eye out for a bike that I'd care a little less about and has better tank range than 130 fucking miles. I like the idea of maybe commuting in by bike 2 or 3 times a week eventually.

that's a serious round trip
my longest was 140, 5 to six hours a day.
my wife and i were paying more for petrol than what we paid for our mortgage.
and it almost killed me. got to the point that i was falling asleep every day... coming and going

I'm 2 to 2 1/2 hours each way and with current gas prices typically putting 20 bucks in the car's tank each day. I've been doing this particular commute for six years now and could probably do it in my sleep. It was kinda cool on the bike, while keeping in mind how vulnerable I was, it was a hell of a lot easier to point and shoot through traffic. Plus the sounds of the bike bouncing off everything was awesome, it was the first time I brought it into the city.

I commute, weather permitting.
It has been heat index of 105, with humidity the past 3 days.
I have been caging my 2 mile round trip commute.
Isn't worth the sweating

It doesn't rain much here, but when it does, I'm always on the bike. I found that I really hate being stuck in a car in the rain; some idiot always flips his SUV and no one goes anywhere, except me. But then, lanesplitting is legal in CA. If I had to be stuck like everyone else even on the bike because of a stupid law, I'd probably drive a car when it rained, too.
