There are a lot of nice things about the place. I did stay for ten years, after all. But it's more than just the 100K wrinklies in SB. There's Goleta, and UCSB, and so on. The greater area has enough people and money in it to support some choices, but it must just be too expensive to do business or something.
Las Vegas is a silly place. I don't have much use for it, but some people seem to like it.
