How long is that barrel? Seems a lot longer than the M4s soldiers use.
I have a Savage Arms .22LR. I like plinking, and it's great for that. It's like the Ninja 250 of rifles.
I'm gonna pick up an SKS at some point. I like those. You can get 'em for like $150 too.

Yes, the barrel is a lot longer.
It has to do with federal law on barrel length for citizens vs. LEO vs military

Is that a 16" barrel? 16" is minimum length for civilian ownership. You are correct, cherub, many military rifles are shorter; I think the shortest is 10.5". Really, though, it varies; I think in certain units, operators can pick and choose what they want. 16" barrel is still pretty short.
