Default Mountain Bike Discussion

Pulled the bike out for the first time, this year, a few weeks ago. Getting the legs back in shape and doing some riding. Feels good to get out after a pretty busy winter. Ordering new parts for the MTB is just as fun as buying parts for my Monster, but the cost is less. Picked up new Raceface chainrings, and a Raceface bashguard to replace the 44T I never use, new grips, as well as some new Shimano platform/clip pedals. I almost pulled the trigger on a new crankset but I decided to wait.

Anybody else riding?

I used to be a huge roady fan/participant. My buddy started racing cross country and got me into it. It's been a long time for me and I'm afraid if I try to go out again I'll pass out after the first 5 miles.
I need to get back into it, I used to love it but it's one of those things if you stop it takes a long time to get back to your previous pace.
I just need some motivation.

I hear you. It's especially hard here in the PNW when it's rainy and cold. I've got a couple good riding partners who are game whenever so, that makes it easier. The higher elevation stuff doesn't melt out until almost June.

Once the snow melts and the ground dries up it is on!
I started cleaning out my basement this weekend so i could have some room to work on my bike.
It needs a good cleaning!

I really need to do a trip up to Snowshoe WV this spring, that place has some nice riding and is only 4 hrs away.

I love this bike (Trek Liquid 30):
hydraulic brakes
3-5" adjustable travel
fox forks
tubleless tires

I have nothing to do with any of that. I just race cars and drive bikes

I thought this discussion might bring you out of the woodwork. Are you still riding, or are you retired?

I haven't really riden since breaking my back. I've only been on the bike twice since then..... just cruising speeds.
