Default What can I expect from the MSF Course?

Greetings everyone from planet Florida! So motogpfan has me going to the MSF course this week. I'm a little nervous that I'm not going to know anything and I'm going to fall flat on my ass. Am I totally blowing this out of proportion? I was just looking for some preperation tips to get me geared up. He has a Kawasaki 250 Enduro reserved for me and then it's on to a Multistrada.

Nice. I like that one. Except that won't work when it comes to the multistrada.

The MSF course is designed for exactly your situation. The Enduro 250 is a great, forgiving bike; very upright, much like the MultiS. Take things at your speed, the instructors are usually very encouraging.

You'll do fine.

Well, I did have to cover up my mouth a bit. Her boyfriend was on the bike right next to mine. She had NEVER touched a bike before.

That makes me feel so much better. At least I have ridden before. Nick's dirt bike got me nervous last time I rode it. It's way too big for me and I couldn't keep it steady so that feeling is stuck in my head. It's nerveracking!

Snake Gurl, you will have fun at MSF. Keep your head up and ride the course like you own it. Let us know when you pass so we can celebrate

clutch control is very important in the MSF course.

You will have to maneuvre around cones, lines, boxes, etc.

Always remember if you feel the bike stalling, just pull in the clutch and slowly release, giving some gas.

That was the biggest problem peeps had during my class.

You will do fine.

You'll do fine...especially if you've ridden a dirtbike. My wife had never done anything with a motorcycle before and she passed with a 95 or something. Just be confident!

When I took the class there was lady there who had never driven a clutch of any sort. She couldn't figure out why the bike was dying when she would stop (she wasn't using the clutch). She didn't pass, but she did get A LOT better throughout the weekend, so that was good.

It also helps to flirt with the instructor.

(not that I did that)
