So I made it through day 1 sucessfully! I thought all of you would find this info humorous....there are 2 guido teens in my class and they have R1's. They have been riding without licenses for some time now and they are totally taking the class as a joke. One of them was laughing because he has already been pulled over and the cop let him have someone else come pick up his bike. I didn't realize the course was required for people under 21. Anyways, it was raining when the class ended and I walked out to see that they had a VW, as do I. As I'm leaving the parking lot I look over and they are challenging me to race them, in the middle of a rainstorm, on a busy road. All I could think is, one of the main things the instructor had pushed all night was if you are an aggressive driver you shoudn't be riding a motorcycle. What a bunch of dicks! And kids wonder why people treat them like little fucking idiots. Main reason I DO NOT want kids. I never want to experience the teen years again. EVER! So anyways, my first day of riding is at 7 am tom. I'm so excited!

Wasn't the first day boring? I was falling asleep. But then again it did end at 10 pm which is my bedtime.
That dumb bastard wouldn't have been laughing if the cop impounded his bike.
I also start the riding portion tomorrow at 6:45 its gonna be fun. I can't wait. I rode my bike last night and I need some help with my slow tight turn practice. I didnt drop it but my throttle control is what needs some attention. I hope you do great, and have fun!

She got 100% on her written yesterday and did great on her ride excercises. I met up with her at Daytona Ducati and she's in love with the red GT1000. That will have to wait a little while. Not really sure what to buy her for the first year or so. I was thinking a KLR 650.
She just left about an hour ago to finish up, I can't believe I'm up at 6:45 on a Sunday morning. WTF, Can't sleep...

Ohhhh, I know why...

there is a red 996 in the garage that needs to be ridden....
they delivered it yesterday. wohhhooo...Pictures don't do that bike any justice.
I almost forgot how beautiful they were. Even nicer looking when it's yours.

S.G.'s first bike: Monster 750 or 900, older. These bikes weigh, essentially, the same. It's a Ducati. The 900 will prepare her for a GT1000. She'll do fine with the power delivery on the 900; she just has to keep her brain attached to her throttle hand.

I PASSED!!!! I am now officially allowed to hang with the real biker kids!!! I am soooooooooooooo excited. I have been feeling kind of bored lately. Like I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself hobby wise or extra curricular wise, but after riding this weekend I really feel good. It's something that I can do with motogpfan and myself, and it's really exciting. There's so much to learn!! There was a little concern that after the course I wasn't going to really be interested, but it definately went the other way. So I'm going Tuesday to get my new license and motogpfan is sticking me onthe dirtbike for some personal training time. I feel like I need a little more practice before hitting the road.
Any suggestions on my first bike? I'm in love with the classic but I don't think I should have a new bike until I get some miles under my belt.

Motogpfan is thinking a KTM duke to get me started. Sounds like a good starter bike.
