'The Illusionist' - Now, I pretty much think Ed Norton's shit don't stink; his performance in 'American History X' was beyond phenomenal. Again, he delivers a great piece of work. Good supporting cast, as well, including a hottie love interest (Jessica Biel). Rent it and cuddle up with the sweetie. You'll get laid after, if you work it right.
'The Guardian' - USCG Rescue Swimmers are bad ass! Kevin Costner delivers again. I don't love the guy, but he delivers on-screen, what can I say. Ashton Kutcher, on the other hand, just doesn't have the depth of personality or brains to pull off drama. His acting is reminiscent of 'That 70's Show', which doesn't work here. It is not bad enough to ruin the movie, though. Great footage, awesome cinematography, etc. They cast real USCG swimmers in several key roles, which I thought was awesome. There is a love interest, but she ain't hot (I don't know why they do this). Play this one right, and you'll get laid.
I started watching '24' on DVD, after so many right-wingers have raved about it. I started at the start...Season 1, Disc 1. I like Kieffer (Kieffer, your father is a shitheel commie), but the high school drama in the main office, and lack of chain-of-command enforcement, kind of annoys me. I'll give it a few more discs before I shitcan the plan.
That's it...I'm out...may your popcorn be salty and your soda be cold.
24: I love the show, but it's the little things that get to me...how does that SOB (jack) go an entire day without anything to eat or drink? He doesn't even mention it. Does he use the bathroom at all? And this guy talks to the President more than I talk to my mother. Whatever, I know it's TV, but I still feel like calling bullshit on most everything he does. Yet, I'm completely hooked on it.
