I've been reading a whole lot of speculation on the new Kawasaki Ninja 250R, based on the performance of the previous model. Does anyone actually own one yet? I'm 6', 200lbs, and I loved my first one, an 89 ex250. I have a lot of highway commute and love the fuel economy, but how well will it run 70 or 75? I'm favoring the more standard seating position yet sporty look, but how well will it do for sustained riding? How about a passenger? I'm a bit more worried that the new one has suffered a decrease in an already weak top-end in favor of 30% more midrange power - is this the case, or is there more power (little as it may be) all the way around?

because not everyone spends their life online, esp. the target group I am polling. I try to do a whole lot of research about any investment I try to make, and with these new bikes going like hotcakes, I want to find out what people have to say. I don't mean to be rude, I'm just trying to do the footwork.
I have actually considered getting one for a street bike....hehehehe

If the OP hasn't gotten what he's looking for yet, I would suggest looking at the Ninja 250 Riders forum. They have a few members who have gotten the new 08's and some have even given ride reports. Hope that helps.
im also form MN and my g/f is considering getting one i say its a great commuter for one but for interstate with 2 thats iffy depending on how big the passenger is i guess.

Yeah, man, I have one and I ride back and forth on the interstate to work through downtown Atlanta. I never rode the earlier models, so I can't compare the two, but mine has no problem runnin, 85 and 90 to keep up with traffic.
Also, I have carried my wife around a bit and it seems to have no problems with that either.
