Yup,
Decided to stay another couple of years in at least. Going to have to reup for a second time for these but should be worth it. New job is part of MCAS 1, (Navy civil affairs group) command is still coming online so it should be an interesting venture. They send you out in 5 man teams to asses areas that need help. Kind of a you scratch my back I'll build you a school type of deal. They send me to a semester at UCSD for cultural awareness and language training then 9-14 weeks at Blackwater in VA for training with them. Then 4wks with a "Team" to get aclimated and train with them. So it is going to be totally different than what I am used to as an ET.

Don't know but that is who heads the training and that is where I am going. Just talked with a friend who works for blackwater, I guess the training is actually out of Moyock, NC but it is right on the border so that might be what they were thinking when they told me VA.

Hampton Roads, VA seems to always claim that Blackwater is part of our community, but it's actually about 2 miles across the boarder. I would imagine that because it was established by a Navy Seal and the seals are based out of Hampton Roads (I believe we have four Navy bases) that they claim ownership:-P Of course I'm not sure how people feel in the wake of recent events.

I'm not sure it they're providing transportation for your TDY or if you planned on riding. Most of the folks that live up in Hampton Roads, travel down toward the NC boarder to find better, less populated roads for riding. They're not great, but the roads are better then they are up here.
