I rode in Rolling Thunder yesterday to say thanks to all our vets and those serving right now. The dehydration and sunburn I got is a small price to pay to say thanks to those who have given everything for this country.

I was sitting in my car yeasterday infront of Lowes Motor Speedway in my uniform with my father-in-law, brother-in-law and good friend going to the race. The state troopers had traffic stopped so peds could cross. One of them walks 20ft from where he was (directing traffic), asks me to roll down my window, sticks his hand in and says "thank you for what you do".

I'm a Navy brat. My father was career Navy, and the only reason he did not serve in Nam was because his two bothers were already there. Since they couldn't send him to Nam, he got sent to Greece as part of the Meditarian fleet. We went with him for 3 years. I've lived all over the US, and that 3 deployement in Greece was the longest place I lived until I was 16.
I never served, but that is only because my family talked me out of it way back when.
Right now, my stepdaughter and her husband are both serving in the Navy, thankfully, mostly, out of harms way, but?
Rolling Thunder is a local event for us and there is no way I'm not riding.
To all you vets and those serving now, both here in the US and overseas, THANK YOU
