Hey guys and girls. I am looking for info on catching a hop from ca to germany. My little bro is stationed in Ramadi Iraq and this weekend he was injured in a roadside bombing. We have been told that they are going to medvac him to Germany and I want to get out there ASAP. It seems like I heard somewhere that reservists could now take hops with the air force?

I don't know the extent of his injuries yet, somebody told my father that he has injuries to his hand, leg and his back is pretty burnt. I/we don't know how bad his hands/legs are yet. We just found out about it this morning. Thank you though. I'll be sure to let everybody know what is going on as I find out.

Past Bikes: (Old) Honda 80, mopeds, scooters and minibikes, '87FZ 750, '81 CB900, '93 CBR F2, (eight year break), '96 CBR900RR (downed by a cage but not forgotten), What will it be next?!?!?!?......70k-ish miles
they are only suppossed to be at Ramstein for as long as it takes to get them stable enough to make the flight to Walter Reed....so you might wanna check that logistical aspect of your trip...
he may even up at Ft Sam Houston (San Antonio, TX)
Well, we just heard from the Army. They said the same thing that badgixxer said. He's going to be going to germany for a little bit and then stateside from there. We were told that he has a broken elbow, broken hand, sever laceration on one of his arms, and a badly burned back. So, he is going to be ok, thank God. Thank you guys for the help and info. I'll post up if I hear anything else. Thanks again.

Thanks guys. I talked to him last night. He had just gotten out of surgery. They operated on both of his arms, but he's not sure why both. He said he didn't even know what had happened. Apparently the bomb blew up directly underneath is hummer and all four of them were thrown out of the truck. He said he woke up in the aid station and was clueless as to why he was there. He said he looked at his right arm and it was just hanging there. They were able to save it. His left hand is all broken to hell apparently also. He said he has 8 staples in his head and his back is burned up as well. He doesn't know about the other people in the truck. He said he's pretty sure that one of them didn't make it and his platoon sergeant isn't doing to well. He did say that he will be stateside within a week or so. So really, it's kind of a blessing in disguise. I am absolutely thrilled that he won't ever have to see Iraq again, but it sickens me that he and his fellow soldiers are seriously injured and one possibly dead.

One of the realities of war man, I always hate to hear about stuff like that happening to dudes, they have some pretty strong shaped charge IED's out there these days that will shred through even the uparmoured trucks.
Ramadi is also a hellhole, that whole area is like anarchy.
First i'm sorry to hear about your bro... but glad that he is doing well. Those insurgents are cowards. Hiding like they do, blowing us up with their remote bombs...
