Call the VA, they didn't have my DD214 on file for some reason (sent them before) and it took a while to straighten out. Also if you are entitled to the additional 'kicker', the one you received before ETS'ing, better have the signed memo from the ed center and a copy of the LES were it shows the $600 dollar discretionary allotment (I am currently scewed on that one, I can't find my LES's after moving). Also, I found that if you filed in a different region, then all your paperwork goes back to that region, i.e. I ETS'd out of Fort Carson, I live in Illinois and all my paperwork goes to Denver. If you happen to need a direct line to the Denver VA office pm me. If you are receiving any other type of VA benefits (disability, Voc rehab) make sure that they each have your current information. The VA seems to be a big stovepipe as afar as information. You would assume they go off of one database, wrong. Let each seperate entity know you address and whatnot......
If you need other info pm me....
BTW....Where in Illinois are you?
