Enlisting after college?
What are the benefits of enlisting with a Bachelor's Degree in hand? I looked everywhere but can't find a damn thing. Is it true that you start as an Officer? Right now, I'm interested in the Air Force.

2 different ballparks
whats your degree in?
Enlisting is the Ranks and Pay Scale of E-1-E-9
Officer is o-1-o-8
You would benefit fmore going in as an officer, unless you wanted to learn a technical skill, nothin worse than a butterbar who dont know shit.
What do you want to do and I will lead you in the right direction, single? Kids? want to fly? Want to deploy? Travel a lot? Want experiance at multilevel project managment? Sky is the limit no pun intended
Also you can consider the Guard, which is what I do.
Give me a little insight as to what you want to do and we will guide you in the appropriate direction.
Also, 19 with a B.A.???

I'm currently taking Criminal Justice. Most likely, I'll be looking to get hired as a Police Officer. I'll even try to get on with the DEA. I heard the Air Force was good when it came to getting involved with Law.
The only thing that is holding me back is that I don't want to get deployed to some shithole that I can't ride in. I need to ride because I love it so much. If I could choose, I'd go to Italy but I doubt they'll ask me where I wanna go. And I need to lift my weights. As long as I can do those 2 things then I don't care. Kinda lame when it comes down to making a big decision like this but that's just how important they are to me.

Anyone know anything about getting into the CIA or FBI???
I met with a rep from the CIA at a school job fair but no luck (that was like beg. of soph year with really no experience). I am looking to get into either one. My major is mechanical engineering. Not much interested in the desk jobs as i am the agent jobs but not sure what these two have to offer for mechanical engineer agents. anyone got anything?

if your MOS (job) requires a degree then you can come in as an officer if i would have waited 7 more months i would have came in as an 03....

Your best bet BP Air Force Route, would be to go in as an OSI (Office of Special Investigations) If you want to end up FBI or some sort of Fedral field agent that is the program, and the Air Force will commission you directly out of college. If you are still in college talk to your closest ROTC department, you do not have to accept the scholarship/commitment but at least take the military courses they will go a long way on your application.

You can go straight to OTS in the Air Force with a Bachelor's. However, they're not always offering OCS to all degrees. Quite often they only offer OTS to technical degrees (engineering, meteorology). You just need to start talking to a recruiter, preferably now, to build a relationship. Talk to them specifically about becoming an officer. If it's important to you to be an officer, don't enlist with the hope of becoming an officer later - you should wait for them to allow you to apply direct to OTS unless there's an enlisted job you want to do first.

Not really interested in the military at all. I used to have a contact from the FBI (he worked out where i was getting knee rehab from a hyperextension). I wish i still had his contact information.
Ive looked on the FBI website and it looks like a pretty rigorus application process but was just asking for some input on someone who already went through it or was in the FBI.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. After college I was concidering joining the Navy/Marines, but i would love to fly. I had concidered applying to annapolis in the past as I have been told by many people that that is the easiest way to go, but i have since decided to go to a more conventional school. If i were to enlist after I graduate with my bachelors degree what is the process of getting from that point to flight school? Im assuming you would need to go throuhg an Officer school?
Thanks

Blanket statement? What branch are you in? Re-read my post before you make yourself look like a jackass. I was talking about the army, and if you came in as an E-2 in the Army with a Bachleors Degree, then you got the biggest shaft in the history of the armed forces. A fucking Eagle Scout can get an E-2
You don't come into anything as an officer unless you are a ring knocker.

What do you mean by anything? More than half of my class at OTS were non-priors. Maybe that's true of the Army, but not the Air Force.

Read his comment..he said 02...not E2...watch the flaming.
Any gov't agency's process is going to be rigorous and time consuming. Alot of paperwork, interviews, etc.
I'm sure Jiggly didn't meant his directly but don't assume that if you go with the program he mentioned you will be a shoe-in for the FBI, etc.
