Supposed to be 03Feb06...I'm in a time warp here.
Here are just a few pics I took on my way back from lunch today (except the one I'm in). Although it's not the first rain of the season, it started pouring down rain last night about 2am and continued off and on all day. I think the temps are around 50*.
Edit. Yeah it is one of the little obscure places with no amenities you never hear about on the news.
Yeah...mud sucks. Looks like Dodge North @ Camp Victory. One of the trees snapped off because of high winds and fell on a KBR guy today. Not good...his arm was all twisted behind him under the tree.
No, we are no where near Balad. We are south of Baghdad where the triangle starts. I was up in Balad April-Jun 2003, then moved to BIAP before they were Disney World like they are now days. Both of them are huge and have Franchise resturaunts, PX, MWR and nice DFACs. Here have a KBR DFAC and a soldier run PX (sux), that's it. I got some serious short times disease going on here. We started into single digit weeks a couple weeks ago.

Ugh I remember that mud, trying to troubleshoot phone lines in a foot of mud & water, constantly getting zapped! I was at Tallil/Ali (Nasiriyah) for a few months, this time last year. Have fun!
I was in Talil last April for a week or so, and will be again real soon for a few weeks before going home. It's seems like a nice safe place to be and I will be glad to be back there again.
