Exclamation The Army has up the AGE again!!!

If you want to join the Army at some point in your life and didn't met the age requirments now is the time. The Army is giving NPS (Non Prior Service) the oppurtunity to join who will not be 40 years old the day that they attend basic training. So if you have some student loans you need to pay off (up to 65,000) or need some some job experience to match your degree or just tried of the same ole hustle and bustle hit me back. I promise i will not utilize my hypnotic powers the Army issued me to get you to join. LOL I would like to just give info on a subject that would be good for your general knowledge. PM me if you are seriously considering joining and live in the SoCal area. Thanks.

Respectfully
SFC Cobb "Gixx"

Do they have an enlistment option for a two year term where I can make more than an 0-3? if not forget it, I have companies fighting over me with my uber clearance.

Why the change in age requirement? is the Army really having a hard time finding people to join.

My 2 cents...Enlistment numbers are down, and we're basically re-building Iraq. Young guys in their teens are good at blowing stuff up, but understanding diplomacy, operational efficiency, and how to do things like erect buildings, foster business development, etc., are things that civilians with degrees and years of work-experience have a better likelihood of excelling at. Plus, if you see what gov't contractors charge to send people into the field, I might go so far as to say that the Army is getting a deal with multi-year enlistments and only paying off $65K in loans. Case in point: gov't contractors such as engineers and truckers can pull down in excess of $100K for a year's worth of work in Iraq. I'd bet most of the enlisted guys never see that. Even if you get out after 4, they've still got the option for active reserves. So they (the Army) stand to benefit in the long run.

Decent idea, and hopefully it works out for them.

I wouldn't advise anyone to join during the Bush Administration. Your commanders ain't got your back.

Today "up the age" is more like "up the butt."

Yuo guys are killing me. LMAO. Its not that we are hurting (a draft would eeeeeasly take care of that) It is a little more ummm... complex than that. I just posted it FYI, alot of people out there really wanted to serve their country and couldn't when they were younger. Now is the oppurtunity for them to. BTW, you can't have any PS (Prior Service). I love this site.
