Default Buying first bike.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forms. I know a little about bikes tho.

Anyway,

I've been thinking about purchasing a '07 Kawasaki Ninja 250R. I've chosen this because I think it's a great starter bike. And don't tell me to get a 250cc+, I'm not going near them untill I'm comfortable enough to move up. I'm also looking for a used bike in the Illinois/Missouri area. If you have one for sale, let me know and we'll work something out. Any advice is appreciated.

I think the 250 is a wise decision for a first bike. Where abouts in Illinois are ya?

Definetly try and find a used one. You will lose way too much money when you buy the 250 new and then are ready to sell it in 3 months!

+1 on that, if you find a used one, and if you happen to learn a lot and wanna move up a bit to a 500 in a few months for example, it wouldn't hurt your walet as much. Also, you can find pretty good 250 since more crazy "read stupid" people who don't take care of bikes tend to always go for big...;)...thus you'll have a good chance at an excellent buy with a 250.

regards,

Kiwi

I started on a 1000. Im not dead yet! In my opinion a 250 is a bit small but if that is what fits your comfort level then that would be the way to go! Deffinantly get a used one though!

the 250 is a good starter bike and you should be happy w/it for many miles. Hope you find one soon and are able to start riding.
