Default Rate the ZX-11

I just got my 96 Zx-11 with a muzzy exhaust. It will be a few days before I can really ride it, and I wanted to see what you guys thought. Are there any things I should know before jumping on the bike? i know all bikes have things you learn just by riding.

This is my second bike and I'm going to spend some time bangin' out tight slow turns in a parking lot to get used to the extra 200lbs.

I had a Candywine Red ZX11 myself for close to 4 years. It was a good bike. Yes a bit heavy but still handled fairly decently. The brakes will fade if you push them hard. We used to do "fun runs" through town back in the day and after 30 mins or so trying to keep up with the little bikes, the brakes would be hot want to fade. Really thats the only complaint I had about it. It has a comfortable seating position, good wind protection and good gas mileage. I could run close to a 100 and get upper 30's in mileage.. I never had the "3rd rod bearing knock" even after wheelie after wheelie. I was pretty meticulous in maintainence though. I only sold it to afford my 12R.

It's a great bike, I LOVE mine. The extra weight disappears once you're rolling, very flickable. The stability in windy situations is great, where feather-weight bikes get blown all over the place. Stay on top of all the recommended maintenance-consult your owners manual- and if you don't have one, get one right away from any Kawi dealership. Run pure/straight synthetic oil, I use Motul 300-V, just use full synthetic, whatever brand seems good to you. At www.ZXForums.com are a few ZX11 riders, and many other ZX riders as well. Drop in any time!
