Sociology help....
I have a 20 page sociology paper due next month on deviant behavior within society. I chose Sportbikes: Wheelies and high speeds on public roads for my subject. So I’m hitting up several (both predominantly race and street) forums for a little bit of insight from those that ride bikes. I have employees that can fulfill my needs with other perspectives.
So if you would be as kind, copy and paste the below questions and fill them in with your two cents.
Do/have you ride/ridden on a track?
Do you ride on the street regularly?
What is your opinion of someone riding a wheelie past you on the street while you’re on a bike?
What is your opinion of someone riding 10 mph above the speed limit on the street while you’re on a bike?
What is your opinion of someone riding 20 mph above the speed limit on the street while you’re on a bike?
What is your opinion of someone riding 30 mph above the speed limit on the street while you’re on a bike?
What is your opinion of someone riding at two times more or above the posted speed limit while you‘re on a bike?
What is your opinion of someone riding a wheelie past you on the street while you’re in your family vehicle?
What is your opinion of someone riding 10 mph above the speed limit on the street while you’re in your family vehicle?
What is your opinion of someone riding 20 mph above the speed limit on the street while you’re in your family vehicle?
What is your opinion of someone riding 30 mph above the speed limit on the street while you’re in your family vehicle?
What is your opinion of someone riding at two times more or above the posted speed limit while in your family vehicle?
Overall honest opinion:

at least he isn't doing it at 150+mph? Never had this happen, but my thought would prolly be to wish him a safe landing and not to raise my insurance rates when/if he bins it...anyways, I wouldn't mind at all....I'd look at it as free entertainment.

I pretty much have the same opinions as above. I'm usually of the thought that "it's your own life - as long as it doesn't directly affect me - do whatever you want"
I'd be a lil pissy if / when people (usually HD guys) buzz me goin 50+ mph faster. Mostly cuz i never run mirrors, and I don't see it coming - and i about shit myself. Mostly cuz they're on a harley, and they have something to prove.
It's a lil better now on the 1098 - cuz when i repass them, doing 50+ mph faster than them - my v-twin is louder than theirs...

Ditto on the above sentiments...although, I tend to mutter under my breath the word, "Fucktard" alot when I see them with poor form or doing it in a manner that risks involving some innocent.

Pretty much agree with most of this, but I do think that riding a high speed wheelie on on the interstate during rush hour is irresponsible. I save my schenanagense (sp) for sparcely populated roads. I would be full of shit if I said I did not ride above the speed limit, sometimes significantly higher. I feel safer riding faster than the flow of traffic until I find a nice cushion of road, void of traffic for a few hundred feet both ahead and behind. Most riders know the risk before they even swing their leg over their bike. A lot of people get pissed when they see a bike doing something they do not understand. I have drove with friends that have commented on the riding practices of motorcyclists; swerving in their lanes, accelerating and breaking hear a few times, or the occasional moderate parking lot burn-out. They have never rode, so they do not understand what it is like riding on cold tires. After I explain these practices, it clicks to them.

Yea - i guess i can rephrase that. Keep in mind - we live in Iowa....LOTS of county road to do stupid shit on.
People doin stupid shit in town is another thing...because it usually involves injuring others if stuff goes wrong.
I don't care if people hurt / kill themselves - but when it involves "innocent" by-standards - it tends to get on my nerves.
I really do detest when they do stupid shit w/ a girl on back....yea - she chose to get on...but i've known of more than a few that have killed themselves and passengers.
I guess I've never been one that has to show off to a girl my mad riding skills (I rely on my dashing good looks and charming personality)
