New guy in Minneapolis saying hello

Afternoon all. My name is Mike, and I heard a little about SBN so I thought I'd drop in and check it out. About me... Well, I've been riding on the street for about 7 years now. I started out in the dirt since both of my parents ride (or at least my mom used to) and they wanted an environment in which they could teach me to ride before hitting the road.

So, my first bike I rode on the street was an '83 Honda XL350L. From there I graduated up to an '02 DRZ 400S which I loved. Dual sports are fun as heck to ride on the road. At that time I didn't know about Supermoto bikes, but I sure wanted to turn my DRZ into a SM machine.

From there I moved to a '94 Honda Magna (sold the DRZ about a year later), as I didn't think I was ready for a sportbike and didn't really want one at that point either. I took her all over the place, and did quite a number to the bottoms of my pegs learning to corner behind my cousin on his FZ1.

From there, well enter my first sportbike. Last winter I started doing some research on sport-touring.net on a good SPORT-tourer for myself and I settled on a black '96 Kawi GPz with Givi sidecases, and I've never been happier. I hope to be able to use SBN as another good resource for riding and look forward to getting to know people here.
