Hi there. Newbie from Columbus. Names Ric. I ride a Yamaha VMAX. Although not technically a "sport bike", it's not a cruiser either. At least I've never seen a cruiser go Mach 3 before. I'm not a SQUID, using proper riding attire and going the speed limit. On a straight track, that's different......Balls to the Walls!!! Mr. Max is a little top heavy so twisties are....interesting to say the least.
I am an ordained evangelical minister and a law enforcement officer. Some people don't like cops. Some don't like God. Just get to know me before you judge. I won't slam anyone for their beliefs, just ask that you don't do it for mine. While I am a LE, I'm not here to "enforce" the law. I don't care how fast you can go or if you do illegal stuff. But please remember the innocent people out there when you feel like being a streetfighter.
If you have a question about law enforcement, feel free to ask......just remember I am not a lawyer and if you screwed up and got popped by Mr. Popo, I didn't do it.
If you have a question about religion, I'll be happy to talk about it. I won't bring it up unless you do.
Ride Safe, Stay Safe.

That was a great intro. I often break the law (road rules that is) and I'm not religious (though I believe in God) but I have to respect what you said. Welcome.

Ric, welcome aboard man. Raised in the CO and called it home (still do, in a way) for 24 years till I moved out east for work. Been cuttin my teeth on 2 wheels in DC, but plannin a DC to OH run this summer on the Baby ninja. Once I get a few track days under my belt, thinkin of givin Mid-Ohio a run.
Anyways, stay safe and keep the rubber side down...O-H!!!

I-O!!!
Let me know when you go up to Mid. I've never been there and want to check it out. Wouldn't mind a nice ride up.
I'm planning on a long drive myself. Me and a couple of buddy are going down to the Dragon to give it a run. Might get a tattoo after.

Roger that on Mid-Ohio. Probably won't be for a while tho, I'm on the waiting list for the trackday school out here and after that, gonna want to see what I can do on the local tracks out here before tackling Mid-Ohio.
The Dragon, from what I've heard and seen online, is awesome -- that's another one of those things on my motorcycling "to-do" listr -- and definitely may warrant some new ink.
You're a cool guy in my book, mainly because of what you said about religion. I'm an agnostic (can't prove or disprove It) atheist (I can't disprove it, but I have no faith in It) and it's refreshing to meet a religious person as open-minded as you. That goes for atheists/what-have-you's as well... too many crusaders insulting and condemning their opponents on both sides of the theism debate! \rant
Columbus isn't so bad. As long as you like movies and fast food. There's not much else to do here.
Be careful in a couple of places in CBUS. Hilltop (Top of the hill on W. Broad St.) Lots of gang activity. Morse Rd. area, shooting just about every night. South High Street. Again, shootings all the time. If you're downtown after dark, do not be "white" in the area of S. Ohio St. There is a gang there that will shoot at cruisers that go through. They don't care who you are, you'll be shot at. There is a real group of MS-13 members living here along with Crips and Bloods who don't really bother anyone but themselves. Just don't wear red or blue scarves and you'll be okay....LOL
Other than that, a bunch of hill jacks trying to make a living in a city that's growing up too fast.
I've been to other "big" cities and Columbus doesn't scare me any more than say....inner city Chicago.
