Sportbike: no bike for now, looking for my first...
colombianito in tha house!!
hi everybody, i am trying to get me first bike and get on with my riding dreams...i really enjoy the information found on this site and look forward to spending some quality time in here...
i was looking into getting me a kawasaki ninja 250 or even a hyosung 250, i really like the look of the hyosung, it looks more sporty than the plain looking ninja 250, but after reading some mixed reviews i am afraid i will be tired of the 250 too soon...anyone had started with the 250 as their first bike or has mostly everyone started out on a 600+ ??
also what do you guys think about the hyosung ?? for those who are unfamiliar with it.... here it is....
Before you get any bike, I would suggest that you take the MSF BRC if you haven't done so already. If you have, please disregard.
I say this because I just finished taking the BRC myself last weekend and one of the ladies in the course decided that riding wasn't for her. She quit after the emergency stop exercise and decided that she didn't trust herself and will continue staring at the back of her husband's helmet.
Also, one of the ladies crashed and got a ride in an ambulance, imagine learning on your own without anyone helping you. She was a tough girl and came back to finish the course the next day.
I myself wanted to make sure that riding is something I wanted to do and after the BRC I still feel that way.
As for the which bikes, I'm not sure because I am still new myself. I did however go with a used Ninja 500 because of the same concern you are having. Plus it was about the same price as a new Ninja 250.
Whatever you do, best of luck to you and ride safe.
Since it's your first street bike, please do a couple of things...
1. CLICK HERE and scroll down the page, reading the info, stats, facts...Watch all the cool vids (short ones) and check out the wild and graphic photos...
2. CLICK HERE and read all the stickies and multiple threads about getting into sportbiking...
Good luck and report back

As for the Hyo, my worthless opinion thinks it's a great starter...
There's a Hyo forum here on SBN and one our members has an extensive thread on his Hyo 250...It's a long thread, but an excellent read...Just go over to the Hyo forum and you can't miss it

thank you so much for all the replies.
anhduy78... wow, you live in MD and came all the way to chesapeake to take the class ?? well, i just finish my BRC class this past weekend and i was going to get the bike on sunday after the class but i decided not to rush and wait some time... funny thing is that during the class the instructors mentioned those two same cases many many many times ... the lady did a superman they said lol... not funny just funny how they made the connection...
anyways, my initial plans were to get my bike as a xmas gift to myself, so i decided not to rush and just wait...also i didnt want to get the bike now since it is starting to rain in a more frequent basis and so the riding time will be greatly reduced, at least for me while i practice and get comfortable.
everyone else, thank you for all the welcome and the comments... any more will be very appreciated.

seen this one a loooooong time ago... pretty crazy, I, by no means have intentions of beign stupid on my bike, i will enjoy it and push it from time to time, or should i say push myself...but i have no intentions of being reckless...those accidents and stuuf you see in that website, you can find the same about cars...i mean if you are reckless it doesn matter if you are in a Bullet proof HUMMER, you will find something bigger and harder that will mangle you and your passengers.... it is an eye opener though...
