Another new member intro

hey, I just registered to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Steve. I'm 26. I live in Long Island, NY. I'm a Facility Manager for an AMF bowling alley.(I fix the machines and the building). I've never ridden a bike unless you count the time I rode on the back of my aunts harley when I was 9, which is the same time I discovered I want to ride. I've always been afraid to get a motorcycle for fear that i'd kill myself. But I finally feel i'm mature enough to handle the responsibility. On a whim last week I stopped in the local bike shop and the salesman sat me on an 06 kawi zx6r which I fell in love with. Alas, I now know that bike is a few years away from me being able to properly ride it. I immediately found the new rider forum looking for a good starter bike. So now i'm looking for either a ninja 250 or 500. I'll take either considering I've been looking for a few days and there are not a lot to choose from. Before this becomes an essay i'll cut it short and say i'm looking forward to making some friends and hopefully some riding buddies.
