Just jumping in to say hello, in a semblance of a decently typed first post. New to the forums, not new to bikes. I'll hopefully be getting my first SS (2006 Kawasaki ZX6R LE Silver/Red Tribal) soon, and plan on taking the MSF as soon as I can find a local one and schedule a class. I've ridden motorcycles off and on for quite a few years, always had some sort growing up, from midget dirtbikes to Indian moped just to name a couple. My whole family rides and I've just been waiting to get a decent paying job before I financed my own new bike. I've been lurking for a couple weeks and researching bikes like mad, this seems like a great and actually constructive community, unlike some others I've seen where all they do is brag about squid-lish acts in traffic.
We are here at SBN are all about being constructive. Otherwise this is just a big waste of time right?
Even being familiar with bikes...I wouldn't suggest that be your first.
Get something smaller and more forgiving for 6 months or so and then move up. There is no reason to get all tied up in a 9k loan on your first bike...not to mention that buying an SS as a first bike is not wise in itself.
