Default What's up

Hey all. My name's Danny & I'm from So Cal. I'm new to the board but I rode for about 12 years until I had a bad accident about 7 years ago. I've lost theuse of my right arm but I am getting back on shortly thanks to a guy I read about in Motorcyclist named George Niedoba that has the same injury as I do an has been able to modify his bikes to ride with just the left hand. His website is http://optionmoto.net/ for those that might be interested. He has also started a forum for disabled riders: http://crash1.forumcircle.com.

The last bike I had was a 1999 ZX7R in all black. I have mostly ridden 750's but I am looking for a 600 at the time. Probably a 600RR or a GSXR600. I plan to only ride on the track and really look forward to getting back on. This has always been a dream for me to be able to ride again and I'm almost there. I look forward to hanging out here alot and getting all the info I can. We didn't have resources like this when I was riding so I'm pretty impressed with this forum.

That's the digested version of my story for now. I'll post more in detail in the future. Thanks.

Thanks ingrahamm, I appreciate the welcome. I hope to see more people with injuries/disabilities riding in the future. I've been told my injury is sort of common in high speed accidents since when a person is thrown off at high speed, there's a tendency of the arm to drag behind them causing injury to the Brachial Plexus nerves that go into the arm. I tore all 5 of those nerves off the spinal cord itself so there wasn't anything they could do with those nerves. The Dr's tried taking nerves from my legs & splicing them into the opposite arm then bringing them over to my injured arm. It has brought back a little movement in the shoulder but not much more.

If anybody needs any info on this subject, please feel free to contact me.

As long as it's not me.

Nah, just kidding. I know what you mean. It's so cool to go out riding and seeing all different kinds of people on bikes.

OBTW--- Welcome
