Default How hot is normal??

I've got a new 04 VFR and it seems she's a bit warm blooded. Stays over 200 most anytime I'm not on the highway, and runs the fan a good deal.

Is this normal?? Thanks

Sounds ok I think. My bike isn't warmed up till 160. It gets much warmer than that in slow riding times. Atleast 200+.

my F4i runs about 174-176 at speeds above 45, but when in town, it usually runs a little over 200, when im stopped at a light, the fan kicks on at 224.

You should be fine. I had serious overheat issues with mine that was the result of having to totally replace the radiator.

Signs of that are getting to and beyond 250 is any type of weather. 60s 70s 80s. 255 is when it starts dumping antifreeze.

Thanks guys....

I have heard VFRs tend to run a bit warm, but on my gsxr I would not see 215 - 220 unless I was stuck in traffic somewhere. Around 219 the fan kicks on and keeps it from going much further north than that, but I thought I'd post up and see what others had to say.

Peace

the highest mine has ever gotten is 232 and thats in stop n go traffic on a 95 degree georgia day. She generally runs between 200 and 220 on back roads and around town, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thanks Neverlose...

Just wanted to see if other VFR owners are seeing the same kind of temps.

Peace

Mine normally runs between 212 and 224 when in town. 172 to 184 on the highway.
