The dealership down the street has a *new* 2006 Interceptor in their inventory, I guess they never sold it b/c it still has 5 miles on it so it was not a demo. I was curious as to how much would be fair for a model two years old but still new. NADA for used ones run for about 6200-8500 depending on condition, how much more is a new one worth. BTW it's white if that matters. Thanks for any replies.

yeppers one of my favorites. can't help you with pricing on it though. I'd take the price on an 08 compare to an 07, reduce the amount by twice that for the 06. savvy?
if 08 = 10,000
& 07 = 9,000
then I'd shoot for 8,00 on the 06.

What are they asking for it? The difference between the '08 and '07 models was only a couple hundred dollars, so even if you double that you're still looking at over $10K for a new one in '06. For six or seven hundred more you might as well just get an '08. If you've got the time to haggle with them, go to them with that $8500 number and see what they say. If they've had the bike for two years they should be itching to get rid of it, and should be ready to deal.

If everybody knows how it's gonna end, why doesn't some one stop me?

I never really got into what they were asking for it, but they still had the MSRP listed as the pice. I was thinking starting at $8K and going from there. The dealership is a small place at the edge of town, but I cannot imagine why they would still have it. I can only assume that they are very nonnegotiable in their prices b/c They actually had several 06 Honda sportbikes - 600RR, RC51, and 1000RR still on the showroom floor.

Everybody negotiates, especially with older stock. Has the bike been there for two years, or did they buy from another dealership that went tits up?
Go get more details, and remember that its January, and sales are down in January. You have the bigger stick right now.
let us know how it works out.
Cheers,
RC

Also remember that the VFR isn't that big of a seller in the states when compareing to nearly any other sport model bike in Honda's line or others for that matter. It's a V4 which people don't really ever think about, it always I4 or V-twin when people think of engine config. so the VFR leave a bit of unknown there, however, it's the best bike in Honda's line up I think. It gives a good amount of everything. Great handling, good (enough, I guess?) power, great ergonomics, and a good time to ride with ease whether it's in the canyons, city, slab, or rural highway. Get some details on the bike as far as what as been mentioned above, they will surely work with you on the price regardless of what they have on the sticker!! 8k would probably be a great price but if they only have 7500, offer 7k even. You know.
