VFR owners....brake recall notice????
anyone with a newer VFR get the notice from honda that there is a recall due to the linked braking system. I have the notice somewhere but I can't find it now, plus with 3 ft of snow on the ground I'm not about to get the bike out anyway...just wondering if anyone has experienced any problems?

I didn't get one about the linked brakes, but I did get a notice about rear brakes on both my old 600rr and new VFR. I've had no problems anyway, but its free to get it checked/fixed so just make an appointment.

Hey Guys, I am about to pick up my new 05 Ceptor (Silver) and I was wondering if the brake recall applies to 05's as well?
By the way, how do you like your Ceptor's?
And yes I am trading my 05 FZ6 for the Ceptor....

well, I found my recall notice and it only says 2002-2004 . also, I am not sure if it only applies to the bikes with ABS or not???
as for the bike...it is great!! sporty to go out and hit the twisties with, yet comfortable for those long road trips. At first the extra 100lbs is noticable, but one you get used to it, you dont' feel it at all.

I went back and looked at the recall. It is only for bikes with the LBS. (linked brakes)
As for the interceptor, it is just a great all around bike. It just does everything well.
Here are my pros and cons:
Pros: Very comfortable ergos, nice on long trips. Tahoe to San jose is a joy instead of a workout. Lots of room for luggage. (buy the hard bags from a canadian dealership and save big $$$) Good low end, very nice around town. Suspension is plush but still very capable in the twisties, hard to upset it. Style is fucking awesome, dual exhaust, everything is already flush so no need for mods, no annoying one headlight thing, very clean look with few stickers, it just looks great. Very quiet.
Cons: Needs a little more power. Not that its slow at all, something like 6/10ths slower than the 600rr in the quarter mile. But it would be nice to have a little more. It is heavy, but thats only noticeable till you get used to the bike. It has flat spots which can be fixed with an O2 eliminator. Needs bigger brakes. Sounds like a sewing machine.
Really the pros heavily outweigh the cons. Bike mags have written somewhat unfavorable reviews which I think are unfair. Really hammering on the power and weight. It isn't a track bike. It is an awesome streetbike, one of the most balanced bikes out there. You can't go wrong, go ride one.

+1 Although I like the V4 sound. I think the mags are hammering it as they forget 90% of us only ride the street. This is one first class street machine, which can do the occasional track day, versus the new crop of 1000 and 600 cc bikes which are great track weapons and terrible to ride, over 200 miles.

well, I found out about the brake recall...I suddenly started to notive a small puddle under the bike, the PCV vavle is defective and will start to leak. the brake fluid then drips out from somewhere under the seat. It was a relatively quick and free fix at the dealership...
