I'm planning on getting an 848 but my seat height has to be 27 in. to reach the ground. stock seat height is 32.1 in or something like that. how do I lower the height 5 in.
as far as I know there isn't any adjustable height links for a Ducati so any suggestions or info on the AHL's? greatly appreciated
I believe the adjustable link form the 1098 will fit the 848...but 27"?? That's going to be tough....are you feeling you must be flat footed?
well it's not really that, it's more of this is my second bike only, my dream bike too so i don't want to take any chances. and I'm only 5 foot 2 so that makes it even harder. but the 1098 links should lower it another 5 in.?

cause I was debating between r6, zx6r, an the 848
Neither bike has 5" of ground clearance in the first place, so I guess your dream is to sit on a bike bottomed firmly on the ground and watch the world go by?
I have some empathy for shorter riders, but OTOH how do you think taller people ride dirt bikes?

first off... no not flush on the ground, I'm talking about lowering it 5 inches. come on now i'm from hawaii but we aren't stupid. I know you can't ride a bike that is flush or even 5" off the ground, just want to lower it by 5 inches so i can actually ride it dude. don't flare me because i'm short.

It is completely impossible to lower any of those bikes 5" and have it be ridable. 2" is about the maximum you could lower the bike itself (apart from cutting the seat down, and even then you'd be severely affecting both the cornering clearance and the ground clearance. My ZX-14 grounds on speed bumps at the *stock* ride height.
Go look at a profile view of an 848, measure the rim with Photoshop to get 17", and then measure 5" off the bottom of the bike and look at what you're talking about. That's *before* any suspension travel. You're not being reasonable.

i was just asking "is" there a way to lower it 5' inches, whether it be shaving the seat, cutting the springs, anything dude. 848 is like a dream bike for me and i'm to short to ride it so that sucks ass. is there anything that can be done is what i'm asking.
Just lean it onto one leg at intersections and or stops...No biggy...
no i know i do that with my ex500 right now, but still i just want to see if i can lower it a bit cause i kinda like touching the ground if people act dumb on the road. I live in hawaii and we have like the 2nd worst something with traffic. Idk what it is exactly but i don't wanna find out its crashes ya know.
