Good detail, great pics...you did good!! Did you put the clip on backwards? I thought the open clip was supposed to point in the direction the chain pulls?

Nice write-up.

According to DID, the closed end of the clip should point in the direction of chain travel.

The reason for that is this. If the open end is pointed in the direction of travel, if something such as a rock hits it, that will cause the clip to come off. I know alot of people that put them on that way. But i learned that trick racing fourwheelers. I threw alot of chains before i did that.

are you sure about which way you installed the front sprocket? on my bike, the larger lip is supposed to go out. and judging by the wear on the old one, it's supposed to go out on yours too.

yeah i looked at it both ways with the chain riding over the top. and with the larger lip inside it lined up perfectly with the back sprocket. the other way around and the chain was cocked to the side a little. ha ha ha i typed "cocked"
