Default 2005 CBR 1000RR - Fork Seals Leaking

I am looking into a 2005 CBR 1000 RR with 7,900 mi on it. I heard from some forums to watch for front fork seal leaks. Is this an issue with this year of the 1000 RR. Any feed back would be appreciated..

Thanks..

I would not go so far as to say it has been an issue for my 05. I will say that if you wheelie this bike you will replace them often. I had to do mine at 6000 miles but I did set it down hard a few times. Now that it is strictly my track bike I have not had any further problems with the seals.

I had to replace a set on my 06 with just under 5K miles. But with that said I used wheelie the bike constantly and I wasn't very good at setting it down easy.

Thanks for the replies.. Anything else that I should be aware of on these bikes? Should I go for an 06 vs an 05? Any real differences?

Thanks again...

Steve

In 06 they went thru the bike and made a bunch of upgrades. I wouldn't say that there are any problems with the 06's. 05's had problems with the stator going bad repeatedly but that was fixed in 06. Honda has extended the warranty on the stator for the 04-05 models.
