They last as long as car engines. Checkout thirdgenlxi's F4i. He has close to 90,000 miles on his. http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/member.php?u=45354

I think that most machines are either disassembled, crashed, totaled long before the engines' usefulness is tapped.

Keep the fluids changed and all the maintenance up on it and it will be fine. I have over 25,000 on my '03 Busa with no signs of any problems.

Fucker's just broken in. It's a Honda, damn engines are nearly bullet-proof. Had a dealer tell me that I probably didn't need to bother with the valve adjustment at 32k on my F2. He said if it wasn't making noise or running poorly, it very likely wasn't out of tolerance.

I don't know what year it is, but it doesn't sound like that great of a deal. I would think you might be able to find better if you search around a little. If it was me, I'd walk away especially from the description of things that you stated above.

Yeah it's one thing to ride a bike hard and another to not keep up with it. If he doesn't know the history on the bike it means he prolly doesn't care to know, makes you think what else does he not care to do. Chances are the bike is ok but you never know what you're getting into, I'de keep lookin
