Default Passenger Seat Cover (Cowl) for a 954

Does anyone know of a maker of a rear cowl for a Honda 954 to match the original paint job? I think I'd like one as I like how they look but haven't seen anything made for my bike.

Thanks for the help.

have you tried ebay, there are some on there, don't know if they match the paint though.

Also check Ron Ayers. They sell one for about $129 if I recall correctly.

Targa! Targa!

They are more expensive, but are finished in factory paint. I have one and it's effing beautiful on the 954!

Enter part 08F74-MCJ-110A in the part number search box. Price is listed as $120.91. This is different from the Targa part in that it has a slight hump on the top center, and a small black pad on the front face. It also does not have the annoying "Targa" graphic. I do not have a picture of one handy, though.

If you need a color other than red, call Ron Ayers. This is a honda accessory part, which is a little different from the regular parts, and is sometimes hard to find. Even some dealers don't know about them.

thanks for all the help. I found the black color listed for the 02 on Ron Ayers by Pt#: 08F74-MCJ-120A but oddly it was like 20 bucks cheaper than the red. This made me wonder if its just unpainted black (wont match the bike) or why it was cheaper.

I then looked at the Targa and it showed this picture: which made me wonder if that is going to be the right color as they didn't make an 02 954 in the color shown there if I'm not mistaken, and I just want one to match my black and silver 954 correctly.

So I guess anyone who can set me straight would be helpful now.

Also for those of you with experience how long does it take to swap the cowl & seat back and forth since I do have passengers from time to time, but would like this cowl for the look when I'm alone.

That picture is the "Winning Silver" / Black color scheme from 2002.

This switched to the "Titanium Silver" / Black in 2003.

The correct seat cowl for your bike will be the black. I searched the sponsor sites and did not find the black, but it is listed on Onetail.com. The unpainted seat is usually listed as "UP".

As far as the seat install goes...check the service manual if you dont have it downloaded it is listed on this site. Just search.

My bike came with the solo installed already so I have not done this on the 954 before.

If you don't have an answer already, the seat is held on by two 10mm nuts. Swapping the seat for the cowl will take about a minute with a 10mm socket wrench.
