Default Suspension adjustment tool.

I want to setup my suspension to my preferances. Is there a special tool needed to adjust the suspenion, particularly the rear?

I think I need a special tool to adjust the rear preload. Theres an adjustment for the rear suspension thats on a cylinder thats located on the passenger footpeg. What adjustment is that? Is that the rebound damping? And the one thats on the shock itself is compression damping right?

Thanks,
~Swift, out.

The adjustment on the side mounted cylinder is for compression damping. You should be able to adjust that one with a screwdriver.
The preload adjustment (the dial on the spring) does require a special tool. The tool should be in the factory tool kit if you have it - if not, check ebay.

You're owners manual (the basic small one that comes with the bike) will have details on where each adjustment is to be made (preload, compression, rebound - front and rear) and tell you what factory settings are. If you don't have the manual you can pick it up on ebay or from the honda website.
The owner's manual is one accessory I'm glad I ordered - LOTs of basic info that you need.
